Important Up Date about TO City workers Strike

Hi All:

I received the below message and it is posted at the Toronto eagles website. I'll keep you posted with the latest news as I receive it.

Latest News

Urgent Notice

The Toronto Eagles SC is cancelling all playing functions related to the Soccer Club on Friday, June 26. We are having a gathering/meeting at Christie Pits tonight at 7:00pm. We will gather at the top of the hill at the clubhouse (the corner of Barton and Crawford) with hopes of spreading awareness of dumping at city parks. If the city keeps Christie Pits as one of the 19 dumping sites, the Toronto Eagles Clubhouse will be closed for the duration of the dumping.

As a club, we feel that it is unacceptable to make the city parks a dumping zone, not just Christie Pits, but all of our community parks. We are asking for the support of all of our members (coaches, players, parents, family members and supporters) to show up this evening.

Let's show the city we are serious about our youth programs and our city parks.

Some guidelines from the coaches meeting

We got 10 good recommendations from the last meeting:

1)  Bring your kid on time for every game: Mondays at 6:15 PM at Christie pits park
2) Be sure he brings all his uniform
3) Players will not be allowed to play without shins-guards; don't forget them!
5) Don't forget to bring water, fruits and/or refreshments for your son.
4) Parents and friends are not allowed to be on the side lines or behind the goal net.
Give your son some space to be part of his team at all times!!
5) Behave yourself : Do not yell or get angry with any player, coach or referee
6) Do not yell or get angry with the referee; the club have a "no tolerance" rule in regard   respect for coaches and referees. Please take some time to read the code of conduct on the side banner or click here http://www.torontoeagles.com/Code_of_Conduct.htm
7) Always make positive cheering comments NEVER negative.
  • 9) House league is not a high-competitive soccer league, the idea is to make the kids to enjoy and embrace the game, and to develop good sportsmanships skills and values.
    10) Coaches are volunteers that take their time and good will to help your kids for free, please try to help and respect them.
